Hi Michael,

What version of Ubuntu are you running? Firefox 28 is the new stable
release and may address your issue.

[Bug 1281968] Re: crashes with g_dbus_connection_real_closed:

2014-02-19 Thread Michael Vogt
** Description changed:

  Dear Maintainer,

  firfox keeps crashing in saucy for me after some seconds:

  $ firefox

  (process:12927): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion
  'sys_page_size == 0' failed

  (firefox:12927): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property

  $ dpkg -l firefox|tee
  ii  firefox
27.0+build1-0ubuntu0.13.10.1  amd64Safe and easy web
browser from Mozilla

  I have the following extension:
  - greasemonkey
  - header spy
  - jsonview
  - live http headers
  - noscript
  - passhasher
  - self-destructing cookies
  - test pilot

- When running firefox in its own dbus-launch firefox there are no
- crashes.
+ But FWIW, I get the same crash(es) even in safe-mode:
+ $ firefox -safe-mode
+
+ (process:28634): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion
+ 'sys_page_size == 0' failed
+
+ (firefox:28634): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property
+ GnomeProgram::sm-connect after class was initialised
+
+ (firefox:28634): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property
+ GnomeProgram::show-crash-dialog after class was initialised
+
+ (firefox:28634): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property
+ GnomeProgram::display after class was initialised
+
+ (firefox:28634): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property
+ GnomeProgram::default-icon after class was initialised
+
+ (firefox:28634): LIBDBUSMENU-GTK-CRITICAL **:
+ dbusmenu_menuitem_property_set_shortcut: assertion
+ 'gtk_accelerator_valid(key, modifier)' failed
+
+ (firefox:28634): GLib-GIO-WARNING **: Error sending message: The connection
is closed
+ g_dbus_connection_real_closed: Remote peer vanished with error: Underlying
GIOStream returned 0 bytes on an async read (g-io-error-quark, 0). Exiting.
+ Terminated
+
+
+ As a workaround, I run firefox in its own dbus-launch firefox - then there
are no crashes.

** Summary changed:

- crashes with g_dbus_connection_real_closed:
+ crashes with g_dbus_connection_real_closed: Remote peer vanished with error
even in safe-mode
