Public bug reported: (GNU Emacs is as old as me so I hope I'm not saying something stupid)
I've been reading the built-in tutorial (C-h t) and found a small 'mistake'... In the "BUFFERS" sections when they teach you how to switch buffers: (error): "Then type C-b TUTORIAL <Return> to come back to this tutorial." (better): "Then type C-x b TUTORIAL <Return> to come back to this tutorial." That's line 622 with the default font on the X GUI emacs window. C-b just moves backwards one character (like the left arrow key) while the sequence "C-x b" is used to choose a different buffer. steps I do to get to this line: 1) install emacs metapackage 2) F2, run "emacs" 3) C-h t 4) M-x goto-line <Return> 622 <Return> 5) being sad ** Affects: emacs-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- missing word in emacs built-in tutorial https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/131234 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
