[Bug 131275] Re: tracker-extract crashed with signal 5 in g_malloc()
I too received this confusing notification. If it is not a bug, then why consider it a feature that it reports itself as one? If the actually bug is not a bug, then it IS a bug that the user gets notified about this in programming-language type-way. If it is intentional to notify the user, then it should be in a form that the user can understand, like the way you described it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/131275 Title: tracker-extract crashed with signal 5 in g_malloc() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tracker/+bug/131275/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 131275] Re: tracker-extract crashed with signal 5 in g_malloc()
crash is on malloc tracker-extract uses setrlimit to limit excessive memory usage. Tracker- extract will self destruct if it tries to malloc 128MB (512MB on amd64) crashes in tracker-extract are not fatal to the tracker daemon so its ok to do this This is not a bug but a feature! (its only likely to occur on large video files) ** Changed in: tracker (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- tracker-extract crashed with signal 5 in g_malloc() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/131275 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
