Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.15 kernel[0]. Ubuntu14.04 LTS locks up in suspend mode. This happens on a 64bit, clean install from Ubuntu download site. This is a BUG and please fix it.
