[Bug 1326814] Re: Should be smarter about detecting X use
Moreover, if using ssh shell I do: $ MIR_SOCKET=/var/run/mir_socket ubuntu-app-launch com.ubuntu.calculator_calculator_2.2.322 then the app starts loading on the phone, the icon shows, and then it closes down before the app UI kicks in. And that's it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1326814 Title: Should be smarter about detecting X use To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/click-apparmor/+bug/1326814/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1326814] Re: Should be smarter about detecting X use
Confirmed. I just want to start click app on my phone but from ssh shell: $ MIR_SOCKET=/var/run/mir_socket aa-exec-click -p com.ubuntu.calculator_calculator_2.2.322 -- qmlscene -qt5 $@ share/qml /ubuntu-calculator-app.qml and it doesn't start, and returns: "Detected click app running under X! Aborting" To me the description given by the author here is clear, I experience the same problem, and moreover there was a suggestion that seems super viable (to check whether or not $MIR_SOCKET is set) so why not just apply it??? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1326814 Title: Should be smarter about detecting X use To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/click-apparmor/+bug/1326814/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 1326814] Re: Should be smarter about detecting X use
I was seeing the message in the upstart application log file, after launching them from the unity8 shell by clicking on the app icon in the app scope. Which shell? unity8? If so, it shouldn't be using aa-exec-click at all but instead UAL.

This should only be a problem if you are using aa-exec-click or legacy .desktop files created by the upstart/ubuntu-app-launch desktop click hook. If you are using upstart/ubuntu-app-launch on unity8, then this shouldn't be an issue. I was experiencing this simply by installing latest images and installing ofono-phonesim-autostart.
