Yeah, the same problem in Karmic. I've done a complete reinstall of Hardy Alpha 6 and all the plugins are installed automatically. When I try to activate the Upnp plugin in still says failed. I think this is not a good behavior. You're presenting a clean installation which fails to work in some parts. It would be nice if when I tried to enable the plugin rather than saying just Error failed to load plugin it could say that this plugin requires package python-louie and even nicer if it could have a button to install that packge for you. Perhaps there could be a change in the description on the plugin manager, as a quick fix, to say make sure you have python-louie installed before trying this package. I've installed python-louie and activated the plugin but it doesn't seem to be finding the upnp shares on my network. Is the configuration supposed to happen automagickally? Why does louie have a priority of wishlist? How about the python-coherence package, which according to the package description is Coherence is a framework written in Python enabling your application to participate in digital living networks, at the moment primarily the UPnP universe.
