October 24, 2014 -- tried again to load Ubuntu updates through softerware updater -- once again the same error message and same problem. I guess I might as well go back to MS Windows -- I'm not going to reload Linux Ubuntu and lose all the programs I've loaded without knowing that this issue is resolved. I continually get an error when using Software Updater to download and install latest upgrades to Ubuntu 14.04. Error involves inability to install the Headers package. This was originally listed as a bug and confirmed (see that information on the bug page under Bug #1348964), but has now expired so no one is working on it. The originally suggested solution does not work. This error occurs every time upgrades are made available and installed. Apparently I am the only one affected by this bug. Now, when I start Ubuntu I am getting a Program Error message. My concern is that if this bug is not resolved soon, errors will multiply and I will have to wipe my harddrive and start all over again. Does anyone have any possible solution? Thanks. You may need to run the following: sudo apt-get install -f sudo apt-get clean sudo apt-get update Then re-install the package.
