I try to get the package into debian for some time now, no success so far on mentors. Mark just told me that collectl is probably easy to package as it does not require compiling or anything and is a perl project. turns out there is a lot of similarity. From what I can tell both bug# 157191 has been addressed and there is a package for collectd (same as collectl) in the hardy repositories so I think this bug should be closed now. Same here. As you can see I asked the same question almost 6 months ago and haven't gotten any response.
