Thanks for taking the time to report this problem. - After selecting the boot option the usplash screen seems to have the wrong resolution. The progress bar is shifted to the right and not flush underneath the Ubuntu logo, like in feisty. About this particular issue, it is already known, see bug #131611. ** Description changed: Gusty install install (amd64) fails to install on a HP dv5020us. I tried running the live cd on a gateway laptop. It is a turion 64x2 with an ati xpress 1150. I get to the wallpaper and then it freezes. I am using fiesty with xgl and compiz fusion and I have no problems.
