Public bug reported: Ever since I updated our two computers recently (1.9.2007) with the usual security updates, wireless is broken. Both computers are running Kubuntu Feisty Fawn and feature a Ralink RT 2500 wireless PCI card.
I have also tried to manually bring up the network as follows: sudo iwconfig ra0 essid myessid sudo dhclient ra0 with following result: Internet Systems Consortium DHCP Client V3.0.4 Copyright 2004-2006 Internet Systems Consortium. No working leases in persistent database - sleeping. Both computers were capable to use the Ralink wireless cards, although not in combination with the KNetworkManager. I had to add following parameters in the /etc/network/interfaces files in order to make the Ralink wireless cards work: iface ra0 inet dhcp wireless-essid myessid auto ra0 Note that my wireless network is running fine, as I use it currently to write this message from a laptop that runs also Feisty Fawn, but features another wireless card (not Ralink based). ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Wireless broken by recent update (1.9.2007) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/136860 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
