Well, I have not (yet) bothered to learn how to use virtualbox, so that test will have to wait. My newly installed 14.10 (with the keyboard issue) is 64 bit, while the older 14.10 is 32 bit. That might have something to do with it, of course... After some struggling with creating a bootable USB stick (ran into bug #1325801) I did a real install of 14.10. Could still not reproduce the saving problem. OTOH I encountered another problem: Some keys, e.g. å ä ö and backspace did not work, so poedit is still useless to me on a fresh 14.10 install. The fact that it works for me on a not-so-fresh (but updated) 14.10 may indicate that the poedit package misses some dependencies. The question is which packages should be added to the depends list... No, wouldn't think so as I also can reproduce the problem on my 14.10 install, recently updated from 14.04. Could you try the procedure in #2? The fact that it works for me on a not-so-fresh (but updated) 14.10 It also worked fine in 14.04 so i guess something has happened as of lately, maybe it worked earlier in the 14.10 release cycle. Just tried with a fresh daily build - It's still reproducable - To reproduce: 1 Download latest daily build of 14.10 and install in virtualbox 2 Install poedit from software center or apt-get 3 Download any po-file 4 Open it in poedit and modify it, then try to save.
