Same problem on Ubuntu MATE 16.04.1 - the sensors page is blank.
Some interesting output from "strace hwinfo" when I select the sensors tab:
access("/sys/class/hwmon/hwmon0/device/", F_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or
directory)
access("/proc/acpi/thermal_zone", F_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
open("/proc/omnibook/temperature", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or
directory)
Note that while /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon0/device/ does not exist on my PC,
/sys/class/hwmon/hwmon1/device/ and /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon2/device/ do exist.
