I was running the FOSS Nvidia driver when I first saw this bug. Switching to the the binary non-free driver produces different results, with the same DisplaySize results in much smaller fonts. Hardware is nVidia Corporation GeForce Go 7400 (rev a1). A cause of the problem appears to be that the upgrade process related in this line in the xorg.conf file: Virtual 19201440 Commenting this out resulted in fonts which are close to normal, and xdpyinfo now reports a resolution of 101x101 dots per inch.
