Public bug reported: There have been two further releases of libechonest since 2.1.0. Please update the relevant packages to the upstream release (https://projects.kde.org/projects/playground/libs/libechonest).
Sadly the debian maintainer is unable to upgrade the package because: "Sadly echonest uses the first *and* second version number to form the SONAME. This means I need to do a transition in order to push a new version to unstable, and we can't do that right now due to the freeze process." (https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=766594) The tomahawk project (https://launchpad.net/tomahawk) needs libechonest2.3 for packaging tomahawk 0.8.x. I've packaged libechonest2.3 in my PPA (https://launchpad.net/~justin-time/+archive/ubuntu/tomahawk). ** Affects: libechonest (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: libechonest (Debian) Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Tags: upgrade-software-version vivid ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #766594 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=766594 ** Also affects: libechonest (Debian) via http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=766594 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1404870 Title: Please upgrade libechonest to libechonest2.3 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libechonest/+bug/1404870/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
