This bug was fixed in the package casper - 1.340.1 --- casper (1.340.1) trusty; urgency=low * scripts/casper: move union content into a subdirectory of the /cow device, to allow us to create a workdir where that is needed for overlayfs. Also attempt to mount overlayfs with and without the workdir= to cope with the semantic change in newer kernels. The package will build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/casper/1.340.1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository. Please help us by testing this new package. With the issues we are seeing with overlayfs V1 format support in v3.18 and later kernels we need to switch over to V2 format urgently for the liveCDs.
