Public bug reported: Binary package hint: restricted-manager
I have an onboard Nvidia 6100 and I have 64bit Ubuntu gutsy. my problem is: when installing the Nvidia driver from restricted-manager its installs nvidia-glx instead of nvidia-glx-new. if I try to boot with that nvidia-glx, its not working (the graphical boot is stop and the text is flickering, need to do alt+f1) now if i do: sudo apt-get remove nvidia-glx sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx-new sudo reboot then everything is working good, with compiz. I have this problem since I've changed my Ubuntu to 64 bit (tribe 5), when gutsy (tribe5 also) was 32 bit (on the same computer) it didn't have this problem. there was some updates to restricted-manager since tribe5 but i still have this problem. ** Affects: restricted-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- restricted-manager install the wrong nvidia driver GUTSY https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/141323 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
