I'm impressed by this bug. This is a huge regression. Sadly, PPTP is still one of the most adopted protocols for VPN and for Ubuntu 14.10 and later versions it is not possible to add/set a PPTP client. This feature is totally vanished from NetworkManager GUI, even with the package network-manager-pptp-gnome installed.
