[Bug 1430055] Re: USB Soundbar 413c:a503 not working

2015-03-12 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Yes, the v4.0-rc3 kernel. That will tell us if this is already fixed in
the Mainline kernel. If it is, we can identify the fix and cherry-pick
or backport it in to prior stable releases.

Re: [Bug 1430055] Re: USB Soundbar 413c:a503 not working

2015-03-12 Thread Fred Warren
If I am following, you want me to go to
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=D and run a 4.0
kernel, the latest one at the top is v4.0-rc3-vivid/
  the
latest for trusty is v3.14.1-trusty/
. So am I
to run v4.0-rc3-vivid or is there a different kernel I should be looking
for?

Re: [Bug 1430055] Re: USB Soundbar 413c:a503 not working

2015-03-11 Thread Fred Warren
Close the report. The 3.13-0.46.77 and 4.0.0.0-40rc3 are fine. In
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf I have:

options snd-usb-audio index=-2
. more items index=-2
options snd-usb-audio index=0

I am not sure how both lines got in there but my usb card was trying to
load up as index 0 which was not available. After deleting "snd-usb-audio
index=0" everything is working fine.

[Bug 1430055] Re: USB Soundbar 413c:a503 not working

2015-03-10 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.0 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot,
please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
"Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

[Bug 1430055] Re: USB Soundbar 413c:a503 not working

2015-03-09 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1430055/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]
