To anyone who has been affected by this issue, We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner. Do you still see a problem related to the one that was reported in a currently supported version of Ubuntu and Firefox? Please let us know, with example of the websites affected, otherwise this bug report will expire in approximately 60 days time. The currently supported version of Firefox is 63.0.1 (soon to be 63.0.3). Thank you all for helping make Ubuntu better. This behaviour (Unresponsive application) is called hang or freeze. A crash would mean, that the process suddenly dies and as a result the application windows just disappear. Probably the hang issue might be caused by some plugins (e.g. Adobe Flash). I just installed Ubuntu 12.04.5 and have the same problem, but with a difference. On Lubuntu 14.04, when I have a crash, I click at x to close the firefox window and I get a new window with the message: The window Mozilla Firefox does not seem to be responding. Do you want to force it to exit by sending the terminate signal? and two buttons: End Process and Cancel. If I click End Process the firefox window closes. On Ubuntu 12.04.5, when I have a crash and click at x to close the firefox window, nothing happens.
