In Ubuntu Natty, libxext-dev still doesn't install a .pc file. # dpkg -c ... |grep xext.pc -rw-r--r-- root/root 257 2011-03-24 08:06 ./usr/lib/x86_64-linux- gnu/pkgconfig/xext.pc seems fine to me?
