[Bug 1453703] Re: Gnome Shell
Werner Pieterson, do you have an option of logging into gnome-shell with either metacity or compiz? I know one has this option in gnome-session- flashback. If you do, could you please login with the other option and advise to the results? ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Low = Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1453703 Title: Gnome Shell To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1453703/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1453703] Re: Gnome Shell
I updated the BIOS as advised. $ sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date BLH6710H.86A.0160.2012.1204.1156 12/04/2012 This did not change any of the symptoms I'm experiencing. When snapping windows to the left or right of the screen, the windows render fine. As soon as I maximize the window, it starts giving problems. Please also see screenshot attached. ** Attachment added: Screenshot from 2015-05-19 13:02:31.png https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1453703/+attachment/4400160/+files/Screenshot%20from%202015-05-19%2013%3A02%3A31.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1453703 Title: Gnome Shell To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1453703/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1453703] Re: Gnome Shell
Werner Pieterson, just to advise, you are using an unsupported kernel (3.11.x) in Trusty. If you update to a supported one (original 3.13.x, or the enablement kernel series 3.16.x via https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack ) is the issue still reproducible? ** Tags removed: bios-outdated-0160 ** Tags added: latest-bios-0160 ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) = gnome-shell (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1453703 Title: Gnome Shell To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1453703/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1453703] Re: Gnome Shell
Werner Pieterson, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. As per https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/50098/Intel- Desktop-Board-DH67BL an update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (0160). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report. Once the BIOS is updated, and the information above is provided, then please mark this report Status New. Thank you for your understanding. ** Tags added: bios-outdated-0160 ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1453703 Title: Gnome Shell To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1453703/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
