Public bug reported: I just want a simple, no frills way to take video footage off of my camera, through my TV card, and save a xvid or divx file that I can upload to YouTube. I'd love it if I could choose between speex and mp3 for the audio, but I'd much rather just have a "One Size Fits All" app that has a big red circle on a square button, that when pressed RECORDS the incoming signal, and spits out a generic xvid that I can then upload to YouTube, edit in Kino (or some better iMovie clone), and etc.
What I've tried: Kino Google Picasa (under wine) MythTV TVtime (no record function) Pitivi Zapping What's Worked: Not a damned thing. I even tried gtk record my desktop with the video playing in TVtime, but the video was jumpy and erratic, and way too high res. If Ubuntu is ever going to be a first tier OS that more than a gross minority of people use, this needs to be addressed. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- No Easy Way to record Video https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/147484 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
