Please reproduce the problem and then attach the complete file /var/log/syslog from the system. The previous JournalErrors doesn't appear to include the important data from usb-modeswitch or NetworkManager/ModemManager. I confirm this. On Ubuntu 15.10 Udev not applying usb-modeswitch rules and modem start as CD-Rom. But on Ubuntu 15.04 this modem working fine and automatic switch to Modem mode.
