[Bug 1495479] Re: Strange dimming effect when setting sRGB image as desktop background image and activating desktop icons
Well, on Arch the issue, (as I said before) doesn't seem to be present. However can't you just check yourself? It should be quite easy to reproduce if it's still a bug. If it is, then as it says "Fix released" for the upstream bug, then surely you can fix it downstream as well. And if not, then we can close the bug! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1495479 Title: Strange dimming effect when setting sRGB image as desktop background image and activating desktop icons To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-shell/+bug/1495479/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1495479] Re: Strange dimming effect when setting sRGB image as desktop background image and activating desktop icons
I still experience this issue on Ubuntu GNOME 15.10 with GNOME 3.18. ** Tags added: wily ** Description changed: I have recently noticed that when setting sRGB images as the desktop image, and having the desktop icons active (gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.background show-desktop-icons true) that there is a strange dimming effect, so I turn my machine on, log on, and then I see my image normally for a few seconds, then suddenly it is dimmed and stays like that, there are only a few seconds on login that I can then see it normally for. But I find that if I set desktop icons to inactive (gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.background show-desktop-icons false) that the problem goes away until I reactivate them, in which case the immediate moment that I turn them back on in the settings the desktop image dims. However this does not occur with just normal RGB or PNG images. - --- - - OS Information: - - No LSB modules are available. - Distributor ID: Ubuntu - Description: Ubuntu 15.04 - Release: 15.04 - Codename: vivid - Flavour: GNOME - GNOME Version: 3.16 - - Package Information: - - gdm: - Installed: 3.16.1.1-0ubuntu1~vivid2 - Candidate: 3.16.1.1-0ubuntu1~vivid2 - Version table: - *** 3.16.1.1-0ubuntu1~vivid2 0 - 500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/gnome3-team/gnome3-staging/ubuntu/ vivid/main amd64 Packages - 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status - 3.14.1-0ubuntu3 0 - 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ vivid/universe amd64 Packages - ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.04 Package: gdm 3.16.1.1-0ubuntu1~vivid2 [origin: LP-PPA-gnome3-team-gnome3-staging] ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.19.0-28.30-generic 3.19.8-ckt5 Uname: Linux 3.19.0-28-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.17.2-0ubuntu1.4 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: GNOME Date: Mon Sep 14 12:34:32 2015 InstallationDate: Installed on 2015-07-29 (47 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu-GNOME 15.04 "Vivid Vervet" - Release amd64 (20150422) SourcePackage: gdm UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #761598 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=761598 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1495479 Title: Strange dimming effect when setting sRGB image as desktop background image and activating desktop icons To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hundredpapercuts/+bug/1495479/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
