[Bug 153080] Re: Installation should offer a dialogue to add users to the vboxusers group
I'm running virtualbox 3.0.10 on jaunty and I could not get my usb devices enabled in my virtualbox task bar because of this problem. I had manually add my self to the vboxusers group inorder for it to work. I believe this feature request is still valid. Actually I believe that it should always add the current user to the group by default. Although this was for version 3 and probably not ose version. This problem mostlikely still applies to older versions. ** Changed in: virtualbox-ose (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid = Confirmed -- Installation should offer a dialogue to add users to the vboxusers group https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/153080 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 153080] Re: Installation should offer a dialogue to add users to the vboxusers group
The OSE version of VirtualBox doesn't use the vboxusers group. If you use the packages from virtualbox.org, please report it on their bugtracker: http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Bugtracker ** Changed in: virtualbox-ose (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Invalid -- Installation should offer a dialogue to add users to the vboxusers group https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/153080 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 153080] Re: Installation should offer a dialogue to add users to the vboxusers group
I just installed Intrepid and it has version 2.0.2; there is no need for this bug anymore! I installed VirtualBox and while it created a vboxusers group, I seem to be able to run virtualized OSs without being a member of it... If this is not the case for others, please change the status back. ** Changed in: virtualbox-ose (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged = Invalid -- Installation should offer a dialogue to add users to the vboxusers group https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/153080 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

+1 for me. Or, maybe, the user could be added automatically to the vboxuser group during the package installation. ** Changed in: virtualbox-ose-modules (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- Installation should offer a dialogue to add users to the vboxusers group https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/153080 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
