Odd. I originally titled this bug report with the error message I got,
regarding a file having been modified in /etc; but I never edited that
file (hadn't heard of it until the error message). I would think that
the solution in such an instance might be to simply overwrite the file,
unless doing so is likely to cause problems for the user's data or
installed (still-compatible) programs.
I'm sorry to report that I did a clean installation before realizing
that I would need to provide further details about the possible bug. (I
was on a time crunch to get the machine updated.) I hope some of the
submitted info proves useful, somehow; otherwise, don't worry about it.
