[Bug 1538248] Re: Text appears to be deselected (though is not) when holding down CTRL if the "Show location of cursor" option is on
** Description changed: I recently enabled the option in the gnome-tweak-tool called "Show location of cursor" so now when I press CTRL I get a nice animation coming from my cursor. However if I have any text selected when I press CTRL, until I have released the button, the text appears as normal and appears to be deselected though I believe it is not, if it is, then it just reselect when I release the button. And this becomes rather distracting when trying to copy text as it disappears when you press CTRL... And it's not just for text, it seems to do the same for anything that is selected, such as a text box or something. + Upstream: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-tweaks/issues/66 + OS Information: - No LSB modules are available. - Distributor ID: Ubuntu - Description: Ubuntu 15.10 - Release: 15.10 - Codename: wily - Flavour: GNOME - GNOME Version: 3.18 + No LSB modules are available. + Distributor ID: Ubuntu + Description: Ubuntu 15.10 + Release: 15.10 + Codename: wily + Flavour: GNOME + GNOME Version: 3.18 Package Information: - gnome-tweak-tool: - Installed: 3.18.0-1~wily1 - Candidate: 3.18.0-1~wily1 - Version table: - *** 3.18.0-1~wily1 0 - 500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/gnome3-team/gnome3-staging/ubuntu/ wily/main amd64 Packages - 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status - 3.16.2-2 0 - 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ wily/universe amd64 Packages + gnome-tweak-tool: + Installed: 3.18.0-1~wily1 + Candidate: 3.18.0-1~wily1 + Version table: + *** 3.18.0-1~wily1 0 + 500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/gnome3-team/gnome3-staging/ubuntu/ wily/main amd64 Packages + 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status + 3.16.2-2 0 + 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ wily/universe amd64 Packages -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1538248 Title: Text appears to be deselected (though is not) when holding down CTRL if the "Show location of cursor" option is on To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-tweak-tool/+bug/1538248/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

This maybe a theme issue, I can't reproduce this in xenial with the default Adwaita theme -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1538248 Title: Text appears to be deselected (though is not) when holding down CTRL if the "Show location of cursor" option is on To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-gnome/+bug/1538248/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Well, I'm using the Numix theme, maybe you should test it with that. It still shouldn't be doing this with one of the pre-installed themes though.
