Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

==== Error message ====
Processing triggers for initramfs-tools ...
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-2.6.22-14-generic

gzip: stdout: No space left on device
update-initramfs: failed for /boot/initrd.img-2.6.22-14-generic
dpkg: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Traceback (most recent call last):

IOError: [Errno 9] Bad file descrptor
========

==== Analysis ====
/boot filled up on Feisty -> Gutsy upgrade.
Would have been better to know that there was insufficient space prior to
downloading the upgrade!
========

==== Remedy ====
Looks like I have to expand /boot, then restart the installation. I will try
to find apt-get commands that will support an upgrade-resume.
