Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users. If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help us make a better decision. Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . [Bug 1574832] Re: iptraf-ng display issue
** Description changed: - == Comment: #0 - Aziz Rozyev - 2016-04-20 07:47:21 == - ---Problem Description--- - iptraf-ng ncurses environment does not display information correctly - - ---uname output--- - Linux s35lp26 4.4.0-15-generic #31-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar 18 19:07:12 UTC 2016 s390x s390x s390x GNU/Linux - - Machine Type = z13 lpar type: 2964 model: 703 N96 - - ---Steps to Reproduce--- - iptraf-ng ncurses interface does not display windows, and information. Tested on linux and on Widnows Putty clients. - - Userspace tool common name: iptraf-ng - - == Comment: #1 - Kevin W. Rudd - 2016-04-25 15:41:31 == - I have been able to replicate this behavior with other architectures (ppc64le and x86_64). Even the latest build of iptraf-ng (from the upstream source) shows this behavior. This is not seen on a similar 14.04.4 system. + [Impact] + iptraf-ng does not have a readable UI. Compare the attached screenshots from before (A) and after the fix (B). - I experimented with copying over the libncurses.so.5.9 and - libncursesw.so.5.9 from a Trusty install, and found that this appears to - be related to the Xenial version of libncursesw5. When run with the - Trusty version of libncursesw.so.5.9, iptraf-ng behaved as expected. + [Test Case] + $ sudo iptraf-ng + and see if the interface is readable + + [Regression Risk] + iptraf-ng is a leaf universe package. This fix will change its state from "unusable" to "usable", so the risk of regression is low. ** Attachment added: "screenshot-A.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/iptraf-ng/+bug/1574832/+attachment/4648125/+files/screenshot-A.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1574832 Title: iptraf-ng display issue To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-z-systems/+bug/1574832/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
