[Bug 1576016] Re: geoclue2 location not working
I ran into this issue after I upgraded one of my systems from 14.04 to 16.04. I was puzzled by comment #2 as my system didn't have an /etc/geoclue/geoclue.conf file, and digging a bit further I found that this was because the geoclue-2.0 package wasn't installed. Adding this package allowed Redshift to start correctly and get the right location. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1576016 Title: geoclue2 location not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/redshift/+bug/1576016/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1576016] Re: geoclue2 location not working
This happened to me after my upgrade to 16.04, and for me the reason was because the geoclue.conf file is not allowing redshift to access its services. Edit the file /etc/geoclue/geoclue.conf and add the following to the end of the file [redshift] allowed=true system=false users= After doing this redshift works as intended for me.
