Confirming from my side. Since I added firefox-next PPA I have not seen the problem again: both Firefox 47 and 48 have worked fine for me. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1576382 Title: Firefox 46 → display glitch To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1576382/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1576382] Re: Firefox 46 → display glitch
I have used firefox-next ppa and in my case it solved the problem. Now Firefox officially hit v47 I have purged this ppa and kept up with the "normal" update channel. And no problem so far. @syosb : may you give some more information like ubuntu version, graphic card, etc… Do in terminal apport-collect 1576382 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1576382 Title: Firefox 46 → display glitch To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1576382/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I am testing Firefox 47.0b2, installed through the Firefox Beta ppa. It seems to be working fine. Forget about gtk2-engines ! [Bug 1576382] Re: Firefox 46 → display glitch
As suggested in this thread https://forum.ubuntu- fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=1989216 installing gtk2-engines seems to solve the problem on that machine running U14.04 with intel core i7 haswell graphics and no proprietary graphic driver. But on the other machine running U14.04 with nvidia graphics and proprietary drivers, where Firefox 46 runs fine, there is no gtk2-engines installed. Is this i7 Haswell specific ? How gtk2-engine may help ? I also confirm U16.04 is not affected (on the haswell one) but now has proprietary driver (microcode firmware for intel CPU's from Intel microcode) which is not proposed on U14.04 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1576382 Title: Firefox 46 → display glitch To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1576382/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Confirmed, same thing happening in a Thinkpad T440p, intel i7-4800MQ. Today I upgraded Firefox and immediately afterwards, the browser started showing similar glitches. I have rebooted the computer and the problems are still here, making usage of Firefox very annoying.
