[Bug 1584496] Re: Nouveau randomly freezes system
Jason Yundt, it's fine if you just want to run it with the nvidia drivers installed. However, in order to obtain debugging information, you would have to uninstall the nvidia driver, at least while capturing requested logs. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1584496 Title: Nouveau randomly freezes system To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1584496/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1584496] Re: Nouveau randomly freezes system
Do I need to have the nouveau driver installed before running that command? I installed the proprietary nvidia one a while ago to avoid this problem.
Jason Yundt, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Could you please run the following command once from a terminal by ensuring you have the package xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes button for attaching additional debugging information: apport-collect -p xorg 1584496 When reporting xorg related bugs in the future, please do so via the above method.
