I am not seeing the issue with KDE 4 on Kubuntu 9.10. I'm seeing a very similar problem on Ibex (RC). I use Monospace which is the same as Bitstream Vera Sans Mono as my preferred font in konsole. Under some circumstances which I'm not fully able to reproduce, I need to set the font size to 11 points while in other times the font suddenly looks bigger so I have to set it to 9 points to get the same actual size.
