[Bug 1693458] Re: kernel BUG at /build/linux-lz1RHE/linux-4.10.0/mm/usercopy.c:75!
#18 Joseph, The bug appeared after a fresh install of 17.04. I was previously using 16.04 and hadn't experienced this bug (that I'm aware of). I will try to boot the v4.12 kernel and let you know. This is my work computer and I have to squeeze the time for this test. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1693458 Title: kernel BUG at /build/linux-lz1RHE/linux-4.10.0/mm/usercopy.c:75! I can confirm that I've experienced this bug as well on a brand new install of 17.04. Has happen twice when I leave the computer locked. When I try to resume, monitors don't come up and I can't SSH in as well. [Bug 1693458] Re: kernel BUG at /build/linux-lz1RHE/linux-4.10.0/mm/usercopy.c:75!
Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem? Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.12 kernel[0]. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed". Thanks in advance.
