Public bug reported:

file filename

filename.iso: ISO 9660 CD-ROM filesystem data 'SOCIAL_GOSPEL_DVD'

Video: mpeg2video (Main), yuv420p(tv, top first), 720x480 [SAR 8:9 DAR
4:3], 2000 kb/s, 29.97 fps, 29.97 tbr, 90k tbn, 59.94 tbc

desired behavior: when you put the pointer into the video playing area,
that you still have a pointer(at least briefly)

actual behaviour: pointer disappears completely, making it difficult to
know where exactly pointer is

ubuntu : 17.04
vlc : 2.2.4-14ubuntu2.1

pointer *does* behave correctly for ogg theora video.
