I'm affected too. Addition to my previous comment: I can still see the "dropbox" process on the system monitor even after the indicator crashed. I have two computers and the same happens to me since ubuntu 17.10, in 17.04 all its perfec in 17.10 its broken. The indicator in 17.10 appears when I enter the desktop, and in a few minutes disappear the indicator. Indicator is not showing any recent changes to files.
