[Bug 173767] Re: Desktop effects causes titlebar anomaly
I'm running 8.04 with an Nvidia GeForce FX 5500. The bug is definitely present with desktop effects fully enabled while using the Human theme. (Thanks to BasherBob for the theme tip). I never had this problem with my old ATI Radeon 7000 PCI card, but must admit it didn't keep up very well under a full compiz press. -- Desktop effects causes titlebar anomaly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/173767 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 173767] Re: Desktop effects causes titlebar anomaly
I also have this problem with my 7600gt. I can confirm that choosing another theme than human or human-clearlooks fixes this (I'm currently using clearlooks). Going by the other posts this problem only affects Nvida GeForce 6 and 7 series. According to Wikipedia GeForce 7 is an upgrade of GeForce 6: The design was a refined version of GeForce 6, with the major improvements being a widened pipeline and an increase in clock speed. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce) GeForce 8 on the other hand was a brand new arcitechture, this would explain why this only seems to happen with 6 and 7. -- Desktop effects causes titlebar anomaly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/173767 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

i have the same problem with a Geforce 6100. I've also noticed that it only happens on the Human theme though. -- Desktop effects causes titlebar anomaly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/173767 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 173767] Re: Desktop effects causes titlebar anomaly
I can confirm that this bug is still in effect in Intrepid with the latest updates as of this morning (Nov 7th). I'm running a 7600GT with the proprietary drivers. The bug happens when I have Visual Effects set to Normal and when I use my mouse to hover over the Min/Max/Close/leftside icons in the window titlebar. The bug ONLY occurs if the window is currently in focus, and ONLY occurs with the mouse cursor over the titlebar buttons. If it is not in focus, then no amount of hovering will create artifacts. If I mouse over the buttons and get the artifacts, then I can usually get back to normal by hovering again, and then moving the cursor away from the titlebar. ** Attachment added: screen1.jpg http://launchpadlibrarian.net/19458454/screen1.jpg -- Desktop effects causes titlebar anomaly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/173767 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Same problem here. Just installed 8.10 on machine with Geforce 7600GT. [Bug 173767] Re: Desktop effects causes titlebar anomaly
I'd like to confirm that this bug still exists. I'm using a nvidia 6200 on intrepid beta. Think I'm using 177.76. Happens not just on maximised windows, and very regularly. I have also observed that this problem only happens with maximized windows; however, it seems like when I have a restored window, I occasionally am logged off when I click minimize button I will try running without desktop effects and see if this latest problem continues to occur -- Desktop effects causes titlebar anomaly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/173767 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
