[Bug 174156] Re: mouse pointer disappears in hardy
Ok, please ignore my last comment. vboxmouse has been used by Christophe. Please test it with Virtualbox 1.5.6 from my PPA: https://edge.launchpad.net/~blueyed/+archive Does the mouse suddenly disappear or is it missing all the time? ** Changed in: virtualbox-ose (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = High Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- mouse pointer disappears in hardy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/174156 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 174156] Re: mouse pointer disappears in hardy
From /usr/share/doc/virtualbox-ose-guest-utils/README.Debian: To enable guest additions in X either run /usr/share/virtualbox/x11config.pl or edit your xorg.conf manually. The video driver has to be set to vboxvideo and the mouse driver to vboxmouse. Additionally the options alwayscore and sendcoreevents should be removed from the mouse section. -- Michael Meskes [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon, 19 Nov 2007 11:17:46 +0100 Maybe that can get automated somehow? Like e.g. get dropped into a /etc/X11/conf.d directory, if there wasn't any?! -- mouse pointer disappears in hardy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/174156 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 174156] Re: mouse pointer disappears in hardy
I recently had the same problem after an update to xorg.conf. The solution was nice an easy. In xorg.conf I had to change to mouse driver from mouse to vboxmouse and just restarted the xserver and that was it. Hope someone finds this helpful. -- mouse pointer disappears in hardy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/174156 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Seems to be a bug in virtualbox. ** Changed in: virtualbox-ose (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: xorg = virtualbox-ose Status: Incomplete = Confirmed -- mouse pointer disappears in hardy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/174156 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 174156] Re: mouse pointer disappears in hardy
Its a very old bug. And it happens even if you have Section ServerLayout Identifier Default Layout Screen Default Screen InputDevice Generic Keyboard InputDevice Configured Mouse EndSection in your Xorg. My mouse pointer disappears regular after i have switching from one user to another. But not every time when i switch. So i do not know how to reproduce this bug with 100%. I've saw a couple of bug reports exactly about the same problem. From Edgy release. Problem isn't solved yet. -- mouse pointer disappears in hardy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/174156 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 174156] Re: mouse pointer disappears in hardy
Please attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log. That section has been dropped because it's not generally needed. It sounds strange that virtualbox would need that. ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: None = xorg Status: New = Incomplete -- mouse pointer disappears in hardy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/174156 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Here is my xorg.conf (note that the used driver is the vbox integrated driver) ** Attachment added: xorg.conf http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10747742/xorg.conf -- mouse pointer disappears in hardy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/174156 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 174156] Re: mouse pointer disappears in hardy
Already found a solution... amybe that's where I sould have started ;) The solution in here : http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?t=3194 Check /etc/X11/xorg.conf contains the following lines. No idea why it's missing. Code: Section ServerLayout Identifier Default Layout Screen Default Screen InputDevice Generic Keyboard InputDevice Configured Mouse EndSection Note that InputDevice and Screen options need to match the options in your own setup. So there is still to find why these lines are missing... -- mouse pointer disappears in hardy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/174156 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
