[Bug 1757057] Re: sysfs test in ubuntu_stress_smoke will induce kernel oops on X-HWE ppc64le
Yes, I believe that is true, the stressors now try to exercise a wider set of sysfs files in a more efficient way, so I expect we're hitting pre existing issues. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1757057 Title: sysfs test in ubuntu_stress_smoke will induce kernel oops on X-HWE ppc64le To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/stress-ng/+bug/1757057/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1757057] Re: sysfs test in ubuntu_stress_smoke will induce kernel oops on X-HWE ppc64le
I was able to reproduce the bug also with 4.13.0-37.42~16.04.1, so this is not a regression. I suspected this issue is uncovered now due to recent changes on the stressor to make it more stressful. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Kleber Sacilotto de Souza (kleber-souza) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1757057 Title: sysfs test in ubuntu_stress_smoke will induce kernel oops on X-HWE ppc64le To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1757057/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1757057] Re: sysfs test in ubuntu_stress_smoke will induce kernel oops on X-HWE ppc64le
I can reliably reproduce the bug increasing the number of stress-ng instances while running the sysfs stressor (tested changing from 4 to 16). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1757057 Title: sysfs test in ubuntu_stress_smoke will induce kernel oops on X-HWE ppc64le To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1757057/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1757057] Re: sysfs test in ubuntu_stress_smoke will induce kernel oops on X-HWE ppc64le
Re-tested on the ppc64le, this test has passed without any issue. Re-tested on the azure instances, some of the can pass on the second run, some passed on the third. So it's a bit difficult to reproduce this.
