[Bug 1763994] Re: LG Gram sound issues after rebooting Ubuntu

2019-04-19 Thread Paredero
Had same problem today. I had new LG Gram 15Z980.

Have been using for a couple of days only with W10 that came installed
by default. Today I've installed Linux Mint 19.1 and just after
installing from live USB, the first reboot started making strange noise.

As soon as I heard that I just power off and power on again. Randomnly
after rebooting from Mint some strange sounds appears even before
reaching booting screen, in the LG logo screen.

[Bug 1763994] Re: LG Gram sound issues after rebooting Ubuntu

2019-02-18 Thread Mihailo Milenkovic
@Salvador You maybe have a problem with secure boot that is not allowing
unsigned kernels to boot. So 4.17.18 and 4.18.4 are not signed with
certificate for secure boot.

@jiyuyan Try with 4.17.18 kernel, I'm using it and no problem. You can
get the kernel with UKUU.

My question is, are these fixes going to end up in some official kernel we can
use on Ubuntu 18.04?

Unfortunately Bionic is still on 4.15.0, so I haven't been able to
confirm the fix.

2018-08-19 Thread Park Ju Hyung
I came up with a fix and now it's in the queue for future stable
kernels.

The next Canonical kernel should have the fix for this included.

https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-
queue.git/commit/queue-4.18?id=7fe058e24ab9755adefa9f21865de0494d89b0fe

ALSA: hda - Turn CX8200 into D3 as well upon reboot
ALSA: hda - Sleep for 10ms after entering D3 on Conexant codecs

I can confirm the problem with loud beeping sound at bios booting time.
In my case it can be interrupted by long-pressing power button until the
laptop switches off, the next boot works well.
