[Bug 1766018] Re: grub-pc-bin not available on chroot fresh install
If you initially installed in UEFI mode, then of course, the bios version of grub is removed. This is intentional as you don't need it when you are booting in UEFI mode. If you want to change, then you need to install the bios package and should remove the UEFI one if you don't need it. ** Changed in: grub2 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1766018 Title: grub-pc-bin not available on chroot fresh install To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1766018/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1766018] Re: grub-pc-bin not available on chroot fresh install
My fault didn't explain properly. My computer is UEFI but want to perform a MBR install to boot on legacy systems. I follow this video: https://youtube.com/watch?v=F0b4I89LY5E chroot at 12:20 grub-install at 15:30, which is where I get the error with modinfo.sh. It's fixed by installing grub-pc-bin inside the chrooted environment. Is this information enough or do you need a video? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1766018 Title: grub-pc-bin not available on chroot fresh install To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1766018/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
