I see also this problem on my Thikpad T495 on Ubuntu 18.04 and 20.04: "The trackpoint reacts, especially if i want to move it only a small distance, very jumpy and erratic. The trackpoint reacts, especially if i want to move it only a small distance, very jumpy and erratic. It is very difficult to hit a precise spot on the screen because if I press with very littel pressure the cursor doesn't move and with a little more it makes a big jump. Somethimes it moves backwards first and then makes a jump in the intended direction. To summ up the trackpoint is very difficult to handle and changing the speedsettings doesn't change the issue. No typo. I'm experienced this bug before on default libinput 1.10.4-1. Then I'm installed latest version using dpkg (libinput- bin_1.12.4-1_amd64.deb, libinput10_1.12.4-1_amd64.deb) to see if it's fixed. And it doesn't. Same jumpy behavior. This is probably (I'm 99% certain) fixed in libinput 1.11 for good. thanks for the hint. I installed the newest version of libinput-bin "libinput-bin_1.10.6-1_amd64.deb" and the behavior did inprove but it does still not work flawlessly. The cursor still jumps somethimes especially if moved a short distance. Did I miss something or could it be, that the prior fideling about with config files has an effect on the outcome?
