[Bug 1775772] Re: Atheros Wireless ath9k random segmentation fault ath9k_cmn_rx_skb_postprocess+0x4b/0x130 [ath9k_common]
A) I know you are confuse this bug, because the Atheros is have two interfaces in one device, firstly it had Atheros QCA9565 / AR9565 Wireless Network Adapter and second it had AR3012 Bluetooth 4.0 1. This bug happened on the wireless network, sometime when the wireless handle high traffic like when I do streaming concert that takes about 2 hours. Segmentation fault also happened. 2. About this comment, like what I said on point 1 leaving bluetooth off, segmentation fault still happened when I do streaming. B) At this point segmentation fault also happened, so what that's affect to me? I can't surf the internet network or running the ping command that also unable to do that. Alright, at this time I also found another segmentation fault when I used kernel 4.18-rc [37884.215497] [ cut here ] [37884.215502] wlp2s0: invalid CW_min/CW_max: 30489/7632 [37884.215579] WARNING: CPU: 2 PID: 18792 at /home/kernel/COD/linux/net/mac80211/driver-ops.c:175 drv_conf_tx+0x1a5/0x1b0 [mac80211] [37884.215581] Modules linked in: hid_generic rfcomm pci_stub vboxpci(OE) vboxnetadp(OE) vboxnetflt(OE) vboxdrv(OE) ccm ec_sys cmac uhid hid bnep binfmt_misc nls_iso8859_1 intel_rapl x86_pkg_temp_thermal intel_powerclamp coretemp kvm_intel kvm ath3k irqbypass morus1280_avx2 morus1280_sse2 morus1280_glue morus640_sse2 morus640_glue rtsx_usb_ms aegis256_aesni aegis128l_aesni aegis128_aesni memstick btusb rts5139(OE) crct10dif_pclmul btrtl crc32_pclmul btbcm ghash_clmulni_intel btintel uvcvideo bluetooth videobuf2_vmalloc videobuf2_memops videobuf2_v4l2 videobuf2_common snd_hda_codec_conexant pcbc videodev ecdh_generic media snd_hda_codec_generic snd_hda_codec_hdmi aesni_intel aes_x86_64 crypto_simd snd_hda_intel cryptd snd_hda_codec snd_hda_core snd_hwdep arc4 glue_helper ath9k intel_cstate ath9k_common [37884.215653] snd_pcm ath9k_hw ath snd_seq_midi joydev input_leds intel_rapl_perf mac80211 snd_seq_midi_event serio_raw cfg80211 snd_rawmidi mei_me snd_seq snd_seq_device snd_timer snd ideapad_laptop(OE) mei sparse_keymap lpc_ich soundcore mac_hid sch_fq_codel parport_pc ppdev lp parport ip_tables x_tables rtsx_usb_sdmmc rtsx_usb i915 i2c_algo_bit drm_kms_helper syscopyarea sysfillrect sysimgblt psmouse fb_sys_fops r8169 drm mii ahci libahci video [37884.215709] CPU: 2 PID: 18792 Comm: kworker/u16:1 Tainted: G OE 4.18.0-041800rc1-generic #201806162031 [37884.215711] Hardware name: LENOVO 20369/Lancer 4A2, BIOS 9ACN29WW 10/20/2014 [37884.215743] Workqueue: phy0 ieee80211_iface_work [mac80211] [37884.215769] RIP: 0010:drv_conf_tx+0x1a5/0x1b0 [mac80211] [37884.215770] Code: 41 5d 41 5e 41 5f 5d c3 41 0f b7 4f 04 48 8d b3 28 04 00 00 0f b7 d0 48 c7 c7 00 97 84 c0 c6 05 fe 37 09 00 01 e8 6b d7 0b da <0f> 0b e9 a9 fe ff ff 0f 1f 40 00 0f 1f 44 00 00 55 48 89 e5 41 55 [37884.215834] RSP: 0018:bad4825afc88 EFLAGS: 00010286 [37884.215837] RAX: RBX: 9de2077b08c0 RCX: 0006 [37884.215839] RDX: 0007 RSI: 0086 RDI: 9de20f2964b0 [37884.215841] RBP: bad4825afcb0 R08: 036a R09: 0004 [37884.215843] R10: R11: 0001 R12: ffea [37884.215846] R13: 9de1fba08760 R14: R15: bad4825afce6 [37884.215849] FS: () GS:9de20f28() knlGS: [37884.215851] CS: 0010 DS: ES: CR0: 80050033 [37884.215853] CR2: 7f81c5ad9080 CR3: 00018ec0a005 CR4: 001606e0 [37884.215855] Call Trace: [37884.215892] ieee80211_set_wmm_default+0x19c/0x390 [mac80211] [37884.215927] ieee80211_set_disassoc+0x223/0x5d0 [mac80211] [37884.215935] ? update_curr+0xf2/0x1d0 [37884.215963] ieee80211_sta_connection_lost.constprop.24+0x39/0x70 [mac80211] [37884.215992] ieee80211_sta_work+0x216/0x770 [mac80211] [37884.215999] ? __switch_to+0xad/0x500 [37884.216004] ? put_prev_entity+0x25/0xf0 [37884.216031] ieee80211_iface_work+0x2bd/0x330 [mac80211] [37884.216037] process_one_work+0x1fd/0x3e0 [37884.216042] worker_thread+0x34/0x410 [37884.216047] kthread+0x121/0x140 [37884.216051] ? process_one_work+0x3e0/0x3e0 [37884.216056] ? kthread_create_worker_on_cpu+0x70/0x70 [37884.216060] ret_from_fork+0x35/0x40 [37884.216064] ---[ end trace b351caee2fdfb6e2 ]--- -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1775772 Title: Atheros Wireless ath9k random segmentation fault ath9k_cmn_rx_skb_postprocess+0x4b/0x130 [ath9k_common] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1775772/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1775772] Re: Atheros Wireless ath9k random segmentation fault ath9k_cmn_rx_skb_postprocess+0x4b/0x130 [ath9k_common]
Kafabih Rahmat: A) Regarding your comment: >"When I turned on the bluetooth and connected to my bluetooth mouse It's happened random segmentation fault. The bluetooth device is Atheros AR3012." Two follow up questions: 1. To advise, the scope of this report is regarding your wireless network card, not bluetooth. 2. If you leave bluetooth off, does the wireless network card still display the segmentation faults? B) Regarding your comment: >"When I use kernel 4.18-rc segmentation fault not appear on dmesg but it still happened that affect the wireless network connection." What does "it still happened that affect the wireless network connection" mean precisely? For example, are you able to make a connection, can you surf the internet, etc. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1775772 Title: Atheros Wireless ath9k random segmentation fault ath9k_cmn_rx_skb_postprocess+0x4b/0x130 [ath9k_common] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1775772/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

So I think the Maintainers work to fix this bug. 4) At this point I think ubuntu kernel team will be participate to write the patch, I apologized for that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1775772 Title: Atheros Wireless ath9k random segmentation fault ath9k_cmn_rx_skb_postprocess+0x4b/0x130 [ath9k_common] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1775772/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1775772] Re: Atheros Wireless ath9k random segmentation fault ath9k_cmn_rx_skb_postprocess+0x4b/0x130 [ath9k_common]
Kafabih Rahmat: 1) To confirm a regression, did this issue start to happen after an update? if so, which and when precisely? 2) To keep this relevant to upstream, please continue to test latest mainline kernel (now 4.18-rc1) as it becomes available. Could you please advise? 3) There is no need to assign yourself unless you will submit a fix patch towards this upstream soon. 4) Regarding your comment: >"Another bug I found..." This report is only scoped to the segmentation fault. Also, anything you found while testing an upstream kernel is not supported here in Ubuntu. ** Tags added: bios-outdated-9acn32ww kernel-bug-exists-upstream-4.17.2 needs-upstream-testing ** Attachment removed: "lspci-vnvn.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1775772/+attachment/5150111/+files/lspci-vnvn.log ** Attachment removed: "version.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1775772/+attachment/5150112/+files/version.log ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Assignee: Kafabih Rahmat (kafabih-kr) => (unassigned) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1775772 Title: Atheros Wireless ath9k random segmentation fault ath9k_cmn_rx_skb_postprocess+0x4b/0x130 [ath9k_common] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1775772/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
