[Bug 179233] Re: kismet crashed with SIGSEGV in feof()

2013-04-29 Thread Nick Andrik
Current kismet version is 2013.03.R1b-1 .

I cannot reproduce this bug in the most current version.
Could anyone that had confirmed the initial bug report also test it themselves?
Since there has been extensive development from the time the bug was reported
(6 years ago), there is serious probability that it is already fixed.

Thanks

[Bug 179233] Re: kismet crashed with SIGSEGV in feof()

2009-02-06 Thread John Clarke
Similar crash here. Up-to-date Intrepid, kismet-2008-05-R1-4, iwl3945
wireless. Leaves wireless networking broken.

To get wireless networking working again, I don't need to unload
iwl3945, disabling then re-enabling wireless networking (with nm-applet)
does the job.

same prob with ath5k driver on my Acer Aspire One ( AR242x 802.11abg
Wireless PCI Express Adapter (rev 01))

to get the card out of monitor mode just do this:
rmmod ath5k
modprobe ath5k

then it works fine :)

Same problem here. Using both iwl3945 and ipwraw-ng with networkmanager
active and associated before launching kismet, and as well using an
ethernet network.

With iwl3945 card remains stuck in monitor mode and I have to unload /
reload the module to be able to change it to managed mode.

Same problem here.
Latest hardy release - 2.6.24-12-generic + iwl4965 (1.2.0)

kismet 2007-10-R1-2build1

Error occurs after quiting kismet-ui (or kismet alone). Quits with
coredump and network card stays in monitor mode. Sometimes it becames a
zombie card without ability to change mode or rrmod driver. It might be
a driver issue too. Please check it with newest iwl drivers and check
