[Bug 1806182] Re: dpkg-reconfigure ddclient produces wrong ddclient.conf
> This renders the configuration script useless Omitting the line continuation backslashes causes the 'server=' and 'protocol=' lines to set defaults that apply to subsequent hostnames, so it should still work. If it is still not working for you, please paste a detailed log. ** Changed in: ddclient (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1806182 Title: dpkg-reconfigure ddclient produces wrong ddclient.conf To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ddclient/+bug/1806182/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1806182] Re: dpkg-reconfigure ddclient produces wrong ddclient.conf
** Description changed: /usr/share/doc/ddclient/examples/sample-etc_ddclient.conf.gz shows the correct and working syntax like: server=members.dyndns.org,\ protocol=dyndns2 \ your-dynamic-host.dyndns.org - basically each entry one one line, comma-separated, host at the end. + basically each entry on one line, comma-separated, host at the end. dpkg-reconfigure ddclient produces, however: server=members.dyndns.org protocol=dyndns2 your-dynamic-host.dyndns.org Same holds true during installation. This renders the configuration script useless und requires manual checking for IP updates. Wrong IP, however, can lead to security problems. This behaviour I can reproduce reliably at any time on all of my 10 ubuntu systems.
