[Bug 1827770] Re: When the browser is launched from a Snap app, the browser window is incorrectly classed as a window belonging to the Snap app rather than showing as its own application
It's a stock Ubuntu 19.04 installation with the default GNOME 3 + Ubuntu dock environment. The only thing I have changed is that Chrome is my default browser. If I run the xdg-open command the browser window is not grouped with the terminal window. I can still reliaby reproduce this with the Slack snap though. This behaviour also occurs with Firefox, in fact I reproduced the issue by opening a link in Slack with my default browser as Chrome, then switched the default to FF and clicked the link again, and the Slack icon is now grouping Slack, Firefox, and Chrome. I've attached a screenshot for reference. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1827770 Title: When the browser is launched from a Snap app, the browser window is incorrectly classed as a window belonging to the Snap app rather than showing as its own application To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapd/+bug/1827770/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

This screenshot shows the issue occurring where Firefox and Chrome are both grouped under the Slack icon ** Attachment added: "Screenshot from 2019-05-06 07-05-44.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapd/+bug/1827770/+attachment/5261732/+files/Screenshot%20from%202019-05-06%2007-05-44.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1827770 Title: When the browser is launched from a Snap app, the browser window is incorrectly classed as a window belonging to the Snap app rather than showing as its own application To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapd/+bug/1827770/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I can't reproduce the behavior with Gnome shell (and Dash to dock extention). What kid of desktop environment and dock application is this? Can you try the following: - close the browser - open the terminal - run: xdg-open https://google.com Is the browser window grouped with the terminal window now? ** Changed in: snapd (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1827770 Title: When the browser is launched from a Snap app, the browser window is incorrectly classed as a window belonging to the Snap app rather than showing as its own application To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapd/+bug/1827770/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
