[Bug 1839716] Re: There is infinite loop in address bar /\&/

2019-12-22 Thread Chris Guiver
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures.

Normally at a minimum, we need:
1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem.
2. The behavior you expected.
3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).

Thanks!

Description of problem:
If you remove any available number from url address then scrolling

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. remove number from url address, e.g. "Mrn2frN" -> "MrnfrN"
2. scrolling is faster :))
3.

Actual results:

Expected results:
numbers in address don't affect scrolling responsiveness/speed

Deleting numbers actually increases rate of flickering.

Yeah, see, that doesn't help. I cannot detect any obvious performance
difference by adding additional characters to the URL bar in Chromium.

How are you measuring performance? Are you eliminating the possibility
of cached content? Can you reproduce this in a measurable way? Does
Google Chrome have the same issue? Is this issue specific to a desktop
environment?

Latency? By type speed, performance with temperature measuring. :p

/\| /

(this way it's faster, I don't have to learn programming languages and perform
benchmarks)

I can see speed difference 10x times,
idle battery differences 8x...9x times
and really low temperature readings.

imho someone made several simple mistakes
and this adds up. >:]

I'm closing this out, because you're not giving me anything useful to

I have attempted to add various characters to the end of the URL string
and it has not resulted in any observable or measurable changes.
