Still nobody came up with an explanation what the live ISOs change compared to a normal installation that /proc/self/maps is broken. If you know where this happens, please reassign it accordingly. Impacts Ubuntu-MATE as well, however it does not include `vlc` by default, so it was `sudo apt install vlc` thus is not listed as bug on qa-testing. Reaction was the same, no opening from `caja` using appropriate files found on local hdd, nor opening from menu, nor from terminal.
