I am in the process of evaluating a replacement for Mint/Ubuntu. I have used many distros, but Mint/Ubuntu is the ONLY Linux distro to ever freeze-up and to require a restart (who do you think you are...MS?). It has happened on 2 different desktop PCs, the only similarity is AMD processors. If you need the journal for instances like this, then why isn't it enabled by default? I did use sudo.
