Yes it should be the case. This was just an example simple to reproduce. I will check if this is the same with an nvidia card, but I think it's not. There are other issue with that like as for example : - high cpu usage while playing flash that run better on Microsoft's OS. - very slow performance on UT2004 game (5fps), wheras it can be played on Windows (15fps). This sounds similar to a firefox bug causing 50% cpu usage when firefox was loading a fifo page (bug 106199). High Xorg CPU usage by an application does not necessarily indicate an Xorg bug - usually it means the application is stuck in a loop calling an xorg call (such as continually redrawing a blank page).
